Firesupport announce that they are now taking pre-orders for the PTS EPM for Tokyo Marui Recoil Shock NEGs. The PTS EPM is a 120-round mid capacity magazine for the Tokyo Marui M4 and SCAR-L NEGs that have the blowback and simulated recoil features. Marck picks up a compact Russian-designed weapon for this RWTV airsoft review, the NPOAEG 9A-91 AEG. You can pick one up for yourself to use as it is in stock at RedWolf Airsoft... "The 9A-91 9 mm compact assault rifle was originally developed as a part of the A91 family of compact weapons, which included versions chambered for 7.62 x 39, 5.45 x 39, 9 x 39 and 5.56 x 45 ammunition. Of those, only the 9 mm version survived and entered small-scale production at the Tula Arms Factory in 1994. Designed by the famous KBP design bureau in Tula, the 9A-91 was originally intended for an Army PDW (Personal Defense Weapon) role, but instead found some favor in the ranks of MVD and Russian police troops, as a less expensive (and somewhat more versatile) equivalent of the SR-3 'Vikhr' compact assault rifle. The 9A-91 also served as a basis for a silenced "para-sniper" weapon, the VSK-94, also chambered for 9 x 39 ammunition.
The 9A-91 rifle is a gas operated, rotating bolt weapon, which utilizes a long stroke gas piston, located above the barrel, and a rotating bolt with 4 lugs. The receiver is made from steel stampings; the forend and pistol grip are made from polymer. The steel buttstock folds up and above the receiver when not in use. The charging handle is located on the right side of bolt carrier (it was welded solid on early production guns, or can be folded up on current production guns). The safety / fire selector lever was located at the left side of the receiver on early guns, but was since relocated to the right side, to clear space for the sight mounting rail. Safety / fire selector lever has 3 positions and allows for single shots and full automatic fire. The flip-up rear sight has settings for 100 and 200 meters range, but the relatively short sight base and steep trajectory of the subsonic bullet effectively restricts the 9A9-1 to ranges of about 100 meters, at which the 9 x 39 ammunition is clearly superior in penetration and hitting power to either 9mm pistol ammunition from submachine guns, or 5.45 and 5.56 mm ammunition from compact assault rifles like AKS-74U or HK-53. To aid aiming, current production 9A-91 rifles are fitted with mounting rail on the left side of receiver, which allows installation of mounts with day (telescope or red-dot) or night (IR) sights.
NPOAEG is a Russian-based company that has been making the closest replicas to the real ones since Sept 2011 for half a decade. All guns are made in Russia, where the original firearms were designed. In terms of material the whole gun is made with CNC steel furniture are made with premium polymer / real wood. Welding and rivets are all actual welds and rivets, not just decorations. Finishing on the guns might be a bit raw, but that is how it is supposed to be when it comes to Russian weapons, raw, slightly awkward yet reliable in every condition, you know you can count on it in every condition.
Fully constructed in steel with polymer handguard and grip, it was crafted in the closest ratio to the real one. Powered by a standard V3 gearbox you know it would be reliable and would fit a variety of standard version 3 gearbox aftermarket parts.
The gun itself features a steel mock silencer which covers the extended 6.02mm precision inner barrel and the upward folding stock that keeps the size compact whilst providing basic support for making accurate shots, it might be small but it definitely packs a punch with 400 fps right out of the box. On the side of the gun is the standard soviet optics rail which will accept AK spec optics

Something we would like to see in the gas blowback segment of the airsoft market will be finally coming true. WGC Shop posted photosof the prototype of the SIG 552 Gas Blowback Rifle being developed by GHK and on display at the 22nd Taipei Hooha Show. We like what we see and looking forward to its release.

Is it a coincidence? Last week, me and Master Chief were just talking about the AK47 rifle used by Matt Damon in the movie "Elysium" wherein the front-end of the rifle is equipped with an attachment for firing Air Burst/E Fuse/Explosive Rounds, sorta a futuristic grenade launhcer that allows for reflex sight mount. The prop was designed by concept artist Aaron Beck.
We were wondering who will build a replica for airsoft and just like that, Taiwan-based airsoft concept weapon designer, SRU GBB, posted an initial image of their replica. Calling it the SR-HMA-Kit or Heavily Modified AK, this is made to fit the Marui, GHK, and LCT Airsoft AK rifles. No details yet when it is going to be released nor pricing for the kit. The reflex/Red dot sight shown in the kit is different though as it uses an RMR sight.
With all these different weights of BBs, the often asked question on what BB weight for what airsoft shooter roles should be used in answered by DesertFox Airsoft... "What weight BB for FPS? The Nuprol gun cases are at Airsoft GI. An assortment of hard cases for airsoft pistols as well as rifles. The latest product presentation by Gunfire is an airsoft replica of a famous Workd War II rifle, the G&G KAR98K Rifle... "The KAR98K rifle replica produced by the G&G company was made of a homogenous alloy of zinc and aluminum and wood. The whole body of the replica is made outstandingly aesthetically with keeping care of the construction details and the used materials. The metal elements do not leave anything more to wish for. They bear the markings very similar to the original markings.
The replica is powered with the use of a single 8gram CO2 capsule placed in the rifles magazine. Each of the two includes magazines holds 9 BB pellets. A single load of a CO2 capsule allows to shoot about 15 rounds with the muzzle velocity of about 530 FPS.
The replica needs to be reloaded before shooting each shot. It is worth mentioning that the replica will not allow you to finish reloading if only an empty magazine is encountered by the bolt.
The long barrel and the replica’s specific built, in addition to the high muzzle velocity, allow to give precision shots on significant ranges. Of course, in this situation it couldn’t go without allowing the shooter a comfortable and effective adaptation of mechanical aiming sights depending on the situation and the user’s needs.
A comfortably placed and allowing to regulate the BB pellet’s trajectory Hop-Up system significantly improves the replica’s performance while shooting on greater distances.
