Here is an update from Matt Furey-King, Chairman of the United Kingdom Airsoft Players' Union (UKAPU) on their meeting with the Home Office on the Police and Crime Bill and other matters... "Tomorrow morning we will be meeting with the Home Office to discuss the Police and Crime Bill. We will be bringing your concerns forward in relation to 8mm replicas being discluded from the definition of airsoft, airsoft replicas being defined as 'only' being able to fire plastic ammunition, readily convertible definitions and the issue of automatic replicas potentially being defined as section 5 firearms (5 year prison sentence for the owner) if they creep over 1.3J.

The meeting was convened by the Home Office and they have invited UKAPU, UKARA and ATB as stakeholders. ATB is one you have likely not heard of. The Airsoft Trade Body was formed only a few weeks ago by a collective of retailers and sites. They have been in contact with UKAPU from square one, and are democratic and open. They haven't had chance to put a website together but will do soon, so you will be able to find out about them on http://atb.org.uk/ UKAPU is really looking forward to working with them.

The Police and Crime Bill has had its second reading and is now moving to the committee stage. There is still ample opportunity for amendments.

If there is anything that would spice up the Airsoft Surgeon European Practical Shooting Championship 2016 that will take place on the 13th to the 14th of August 2016, then this should be it. Paul Wignell of ASG mentioned it to us during the recently concluded at IWA 2016 and as we are about to write, the posting by Airsoft Action Magazine on Facebook says it best:

"If you are into Practical Shooting, you may well recognise this gentleman. His name is Lars Hagemann and let's just say that he's pretty handy with a pistol - and has the medals to prove it!

Lars shoots for Team CZ and has just joined Team ASG to shoot the airsoft version of his real steel pistol, the brilliant SP-01 Shadow, at the Airsoft Surgeon European Championship in August. Lars and Airsoft Surgeon have agreed to a fun 'head to head' on a one-off stage, which should be great to watch!"
